Other Tucker

Here is the last of the Tucker pictures i have.

The boys took a bath for about an hour. They were having so much fun. We had to keep warming up their water.

Here they are playing with stickers.

This was the best shot i could get. i think it turned out pretty good.

Ed liked playing with the puppies. He would grab their hair and swing them around. For the puppies' sake I tried to stay close by at all times.

Kimber was not as excited.

But Tucker wouldn't let it go. He really wanted her to be friends with the puppies.

Tucker also wanted the other dogs to be friends with the puppies. He was so good at making sure everyone was friends (even if they didn't want to be)

Kimber eventually complied with Tucker's request. I think it was out of self preservation. She's been around Tucker too long to not know that he won't stop until he gets what he wants.

But Bobbie was there to make sure everything was ok.

The Zoo

We went to the zoo and had a ball. Owen and Tucker never stopped running, unless, of course, there was a cool animal to look at. I took lots of pictures, but most of them look like this one below: the backs of the boys as they run to find the next thing.

Ed liked being in the stroller until Kimber came along. She got in behind him and was trying to take a nap which ment Ed lost his back rest, so Grandma carried him the rest of the time.

If you weren't fast with a camera you couldn't get any pictures of the boys together. This one was just luck.

As was this one. Although they liked riding the lion and the tiger they were just both so excited to be there that they couldn't hold still.

Edgar really liked holding on to the bars when we were looking at animals. He would stand on the cement and grab ahold. I'm not sure he ever acutally saw any animals, but he was enjoying himself.

Owen, on the other hand, liked looking at the animals and wished the bars weren't there. Here you see him trying to chew his way into the tiger cage.

He wanted to get all the animals and play with them. :)

This was our best animal picture. The tiger looked right at us as i was taking it.

Hailey was trying to take a picture of Owen where he looked "normal" the whole time. In all of her shots he was turning, sticking his tounge out, opening his mouth wide, squinting, etc. Tucker likes to smile for the camera, but Owen likes to run away so I'm not sure she ever got a good picture.

Oddly, this was one of the boys' favorite attractions. We had brought water with us but the vending machine was just so cool...all those buttons you could push!

I wanted a picture with me and Ed. The only way to get him to look at the camera and be happy was to have him chew on my finger. so if you look closely you'll see my hand in his mouth.

Then i tried to get one of my little family (Carson was at work so he missed this experience). This was the best we got. Owen was making some kind of noise that sounded like "Whaaaa" and was trying to run away. I like the picture because it shows off what my son is really like.

Last shot of the boys together. One would stand next to the tiger while the other ran to the lion, then they would switch. Torie was trying to get one of both boys and her, but i don't think it ever happened.

Last, but not least, especially in the weight catagory, Ed sitting by the ducks. Isn't he cute!

Edgar's Oddities (some of them)

Well, the title of this post should explain it all, but i'll give just a little more info.

Ed likes to chew on socks. He likes to chew on anything really, but he has a special fondness for socks. He pulls off his right sock (occasionally his left) and stuffs as much of it into his mouth as he can. By the time he is done the sock is soaking wet. So more often than not, if you see Ed he'll have on one wet sock.

Here is the side view of sock chewing.

Now, here is another interesting thing about Edgar. When i try to get him to crawl he ends up in what i think yoga terms would call a "downward facing dog." I just put my hand under him and he assumes that i am trying to help him stand up. Needless to say that the whole crawling thing isn't advancing as quickly as i would like.

Carson just missed the picture i really wanted. Owen was imitating Ed and was also in the "downward facing dog" pose then he collapsed and that is when the camera flashed. We couldn't get Owen to do it again.

Branding 2

Continued... out of order (of course)

Owen and Tucker wanted to sit together on the way home. Mean Mom/Aunt Julie wouldn't let them. About one minute after leaving the branding they were both dead asleep.

Uncle Dusty holding a calf while they brand it.

Grandpa gave Owen and Tucker branding irons (don't worry they were cold). The boys loved it.

Owen actually loved just carring his around more than actually attacking the cows.

Riley graced us with her presence. She wore a pink swimsuit and ruby red slipper, the perfect branding attire.

Tucker was the one that never let a calf go by without putting his mark on it.

Working boys! They loved helping and watching everything that was happening.
We loved having Tucker and Kimber (ok, and i guess Dusty and Hailey too). I have lots more pictures of the Tucker visit to post, but Owie and Ed are getting tired of me being on the computer so they will have to come later.

Branding 1

Disclaimer: I uploaded the pictures in the wrong order and am too lazy to fix them so you'll have to live with it.
We went branding last Saturday at the Reid Ranch. A big thanks to Jess for inviting us. I broke my video camera one hour before it started so all we have are pictures, but some of them are pretty good.
When we first got there Ed was asleep and Owen and Tucker were scared to death! So all three boys stayed in the car.
Then Grandpa came to save them.

After that they had no fear. (I wish they didn't go to the extremes. A little fear would have been ok with me:)

Kera was an AMAZING roper, probably the best one there. It was a good thing we brought her.

Jess did ground crew (first I've ever seen -- although I don't go to all the brandings)

Oh, here is our picture of the meatheads hiding in the car. As long as the doors were closed they were fine, but you would open them and they would get this terrified look on their faces and say "close the door. cows get us!" Then you'd shut the door and they would say "I'm not scared"

Here is Grandpa bringing a calf to the fire.

And Uncle Dusty doing his part as well.

After he woke up, Ed hung with Grandpa Rich. They were together pretty much the whole time. There were only two instances that I had to step in. 1) Grandpa scratched Ed with his wiskers 2) A calf ran into Grandpa and knocked the two of them into a fence. Ed wasn't hurt just scared.

The great Dustin looking for the perfect calf.

Rich and Kera discussing her AMAZING shot-giving skills. Really, how did we function without her.
I have more pictures, but am putting them on the next post so read on...
